    Upload what you have

    A ZIP, an XML export, or Excel and CSV files from your current software. You will not need to clean them first.

    See what is inside

    Before importing anything, a plain summary: how many parties and items, the date range of invoices, total outstanding, and anything that could not be read.

    Check how it maps

    The AI matches your fields to LalaJi: party names, GSTINs, HSN codes, units, batches and balances. You correct any match before going ahead.

    Import and compare

    Nothing is saved until you confirm. After import, you match the opening balances and stock against your old software's closing figures.

Before you go live, check these five numbers

Whichever software you come from, our onboarding team goes through this list with you. If all five match your old software on the cut-over date, you can switch with confidence.

  • Total receivables, and the outstanding of your ten biggest parties
  • Total payables to suppliers
  • Stock quantity of your top items, in each godown
  • Cash and bank balances on the cut-over date
  • GSTINs and state codes of your registered parties

Pick a clean cut-over date, such as the first of a month, and bring in each party's balance on that date. Keep your old software for looking up older records.

Questions about switching

Which software can I import from today?

Tally (XML export) and BUSY (data export), plus Excel templates for items, parties and sales and purchase invoices. Marg, Vyapar, Zoho Books and other software come with the AI import, which is launching next.

What comes across from Tally or BUSY?

Parties with opening balances, items with HSN codes and GST rates, units, and sales and purchase vouchers. Receipts, payments and journals are not imported, so pick a cut-over date and bring each party's balance on that date.

I use something else. What should I do now?

Talk to us. Our team can move your masters through the Excel templates today, and we will run the AI import with you once it launches.

Do I lose my old software's data?

No. Importing only reads your exported files. Your old software and its data stay as they are, so you can look up older records any time.

Is data import included in my plan?

Yes. Data import, and the AI import when it launches, is part of every plan at no extra cost.
